I used to think that loving someone was so easy. Now I’m not so sure.
Yes, the loving part is easy, but how about all the other parts that can get in the way of that blissful feeling? In the beginning, it’s simple: you love the way they talk, their smell, their laugh, their ideas, thoughts… they can do no wrong.
Then the reality kicks in. They are late more often then not. They forget your birthday. They talk back. Or they get going on and on about their boring job. But that’s what love really is: to truly love the other person in spite of their flaws.
Yes, some days are easier then others. I know when I’m in the flow of things, the rose-colored glasses are on, or maybe it’s just that I don’t sweat the small stuff. Either way, having my husband, friends and family around is one of my greatest blessings, despite my many shortcomings.
